Antigea answers a question everyone has idly wondered: what is on the exact opposite side of the world from me? Type any address and it computes the antipode — the point diametrically opposite on the globe — then shows the satellite view, the nearest Street View, the closest named land, the distance, and the local time over there right now.
The name comes from Greek: anti (opposite) + gea (Earth). The idea is 2,000 years old — Greek geographers deduced the antipodes from the sphere long before anyone could visit; we wrote up the full history.
The math is exact, the data is open (OpenStreetMap geocoding, official Street View coverage only), and when your antipode is empty ocean the site says so instead of quietly teleporting you somewhere photogenic. The full methodology is documented in How Antigea finds the opposite side of the world.
